Dream Proposal/Wedding

There is something so beautiful about this very small and cozy wedding. I love how close everyone looks and how it doesn’t feel overwhelming. The couple looks so happy and beautiful but more importantly so in love. I hope that one day I can find someone that would join me in something like this.

Anyway, I know that this is silly but I thought I’d take some time to reflect/think about my dream proposal/wedding.

One lazy Sunday, him and me would be walking down a busy city street. We’d be on our way to enjoy our favorite pancakes at our favorite diner. No not pancakes, maybe oatmeal and sausage and eggs with a stack to share between us.

On our way there, he would stop to turn and face me and tell me, “Do you know what I just realized?”

Grumpy because I hadn’t had my morning coffee, yet, I’d respond with, “No, what?”

“I can’t live another moment without you.”

Even more annoyed, “I’m glad that just hit you.”

“No, seriously, I don’t want to ever be apart from you. Will you marry me?,” he would respond while getting on one knee.

Without more than a seconds breath, with no grandeur, no pomp and circumstance, no ceremony, I would respond with, “Yes.” I’d beg him to stand back up because we were causing a scene and we’d rush to the nearest 99 cents store to buy the cheapest toy ring or a ring pop.

On our way to our next location, we’d call our parents to notify of our decision. My mother would yell at me because I am not inviting all 1,000 members of my family but she would give her blessing because I know she is going to love him.

Next up, I’d have to buy a dress and him a tie.

Finally, we’d rush to City Hall, I would pretend not to be too excited because this would have just been the next natural step for us. A title to an already existent status. We’d do the deed and then the culminating event, we’d have breakfast. Him - his favorite omelette. Me - oatmeal. Between us, a stack to share. For dessert, either my ring pop or maybe some really beautiful diner apple pie a la carte.

It is my wedding, you know?
